Flow Survey at Hydroelectric Scheme

JWF were approached to carry out a site survey for a major hydroelectric scheme in Scotland.
The customer wanted to measure flow rates of existing pipework without the need to shutdown production.
Solution
Our Service Engineer carried out a flow survey using a FLEXIM portable ultrasonic clamp-on meter.
The non-invasive technology meant that no shutdown was required while carrying out the survey.
We can successfully measure on pipe sizes from 10mm to 3000mm diameter.
Outcome
After successful tests at ‘The Hollow Mountain’, we then carried out more tests on Penstock applications resulting in further installations of both fixed and portable flow meters.
