Onsite calibrations for Celtic Renewables

Introduction/Challenge

Celtic Renewables’ patented technology converts low-value byproducts, residues and waste into high-value green chemicals as part of its defossilisation strategy. We recently attended the company’s Grangemouth facility to carry out 35 equipment calibrations.

All 35 pressure and temperature calibrations needed to be conducted during a two-day maintenance shutdown cycle in ATEX conditions.

Solution

Working with two engineers at the client site – one at the equipment location, and another in the control room, we delivered a seamless service visit using a Beamex unit, temperature bath, temperature probe, hand pump and ATEX radios.

Outcome

All calibrations were successfully delivered to support the production of the green chemicals made by Celtic Renewables including bioacetone, biobutanol and bioethanol which directly displace chemicals made from gas and oil.

We’re looking forward to returning to Celtic Renewables to continue supporting the smooth running of operations.

Testimonial

Colin Niblo, Maintenance Engineering Lead at Celtic Renewables, said: “JWF was key in assisting us with our solvent recovery systems shutdown work. We contacted at short notice in the hope that the team would be able to support us, and were extremely pleased with the assistance to that helped us achieve the full scope of work in a much shorter time frame than expected. JWF delivered an exceptional standard of work and was very helpful with any additional queries we had. I highly recommend JWF, and we continue to use its services going forward with other projects in the pipeline.”
