During the Covid-19 pandemic, oxygen supply and the measurement of it was a key factor in patient care in hospitals.
NHS Scotland approached JWF as concern grew due to the rapidly increasing number of patients in hospitals requiring oxygen.
NHS Scotland required a non-invasive, accurate oxygen measurement system, situated in key locations with the ability to provide ‘real time’ data that could be used by both estates managers and clinicians.
JWF carried out a pilot project at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley working alongside the estates manager and lead clinician.
Following a site survey, JWF installed a non-invasive flow meter and provided digital communications from the meter to allow integration into the hospital building management system.
To provide 'real time' data, JWF designed and created a communications module and cloud-based dashboard allowing remote access.
Following this successful pilot, JWF have installed flow meters in over 40 hospitals in Scotland and dashboards are in place in several health boards. A successful deployment consisted of the following:
