JWF saves Oil Refinery $1.4M
Pressure Gauges are not always considered critical instruments when it comes to plant safety and integrity, however this view could not be further from the truth.
One of our major customers contacted us about a recent application which required a number of Pressure Gauges to be fitted to a Hydrogen Unit prior to the plant re-start after shutdown. Pressure measurement is critical, and the plant could not operate without local indication. However, at the 11th hour it was discovered that the gauges had not been placed on order and the plant turned to JWF, as their pressure gauge contract holder, to rescue the situation.
Due to the exotic materials and welding required, normal delivery would take 6-8 weeks. Thankfully, JWF were able to work with their partners at WIKA Instruments to ensure that an accelerated delivery of two weeks would be achievable. In the end, we were delighted to deliver one day sooner than promised, which enabled our customer to fit and test in advance of the plant re-start.
This expedited delivery, closely monitored by JWF on a daily basis by our Supply Chain and Logistics Team, resulted in the prevention of a $1.4m loss due to lost production.
