JWF visit ABB's Pressure Factory in Italy!

Last month a team from JWF along with other UK & Ireland Instrumentation Alliance Partners (IAP) travelled to ABB’s Pressure factory in Ossuccio, Italy for a tour of the manufacturing facilities and product training.

Located on the shores of Lake Como this PMU is relatively new with the addition of several automated processes utilising ABB robots assembling and welding pressure sensors to the highest precision.

After arriving at ABB PMU the team were treated to a guided tour of this new world class facility to gain an improved understanding of what makes ABB’s 266 Series of Pressure Transmitters class leading.

The second day of this visit saw the delegation split into two groups.

One group of combined IAP & ABB Sales personnel undertook an in depth training session which included hands on familiarisation with the new WirelessHART7 communications and DHH805 hand held configurator.

The second group was compromised of PMU, UK and IAP Management with each IAP presenting a summary of their local Pressure market needs along with ABB’s strengths and challenges. Time was then taken to review and discuss these needs and how ABB can work with the Channel Partners to grow our market share.

Following a wrap up session on day 3 where Top 3 commitments from all parties: PMU, FES & IAP were discussed and agreed in a dynamic workshop format. The outstanding local scenery of Lake Como was then enjoyed for a few hours prior to transport back to the airport.

"Everything went fantastically well. I will be getting our team together and asking them to present on key points that they picked up from the training that we can use moving forward to assist us with Pressure sales together with our own points from the Principals meeting" reflected Kenneth Fairbairn, JWF’s Managing Director.
